"The event went way beyond my wildest expectations" said Sharon Lukacs, Executive Director Chelan Valley Hope speaking of the Second Annual Woodstock Anniversary Concert held on August 27 at Watson's Alpenhorn Café. "The weather couldn't have been better and people in attendance were really into the Woodstock theme with many dressed for the event and dancing to the groovy music of Waterdog. The many in-kind donations and a long list of volunteers dedicated to this fund raising event for Chelan Valley Hope highlights the caring attitude of the Chelan Valley community."
Big crowd at the Alpenhorn Cafe
Chelan Valley Hope is a local non-profit organization that helps meet the needs of individuals and families in a crisis and then helps them find a path to a better life. All monies raised at the Woodstock event will go back into our community, giving those in need and hand up.
Hard not to be up dancing to the rock and roll
"The event was a success on many levels, Sharon went on. We estimate nearly $8,000 raised in cash and another $2,000 with in-kind donations. Two hundred and thirty tickets were sold! Money was raised from the sale of our Woodstock tee shirts, hamburgers, hotdogs, beer and wine (local wines). We also received cash donations from those attending the event. The BIG drawing for a two-night to stay at a VACASA
lake front home worth $1,000 brought in $740. I'm very proud of everyone that helped make this event a success."
