The Manson Chamber of Commerce held their regular monthly general meeting on Wednesday - May 25th at Rootwood Cider Company
at 8:30 AM. There were several folks in attendance. MCC Board President Judy Dai opened the meeting. Meetings are open to the public and you are encouraged to attend to learn what is going on in our community.

It was announced that Gerry Ustanik has made the decision to resign from the board. Jeff Conwell agreed to step in to help until a permanent replacement has been selected.
Guest speakers - Tom Tobey owner Mill Bay Marine made a brief presentation regarding a rezoning of his property. He is wanting to be able to build out the project as originally designed but in the meantime the zoning changed. He was invited to the Manson Community Council by Kathy Miller. Both organizations support the request.
Julie Porter made a brief presentation regarding Hydrofest 2016 which will be on Sept 24-25. Street closure permits have been applied for. Other details will be forthcoming.
A brief budget review was given by Ron Trickett. Contact the board if you have questions.

Review of recent events - Golf Ball Drop Football team members will receive their check on Wed. at 6 pm. 1st place winner will
receive his check Friday at 6 pm. This event will be sponsored again next year by the football team. Rat Rod Show - Jeff gave a review of the event. It was successful with entrants from many places. Next year will be a bigger and more widely advertised. Todd reported that Spring Barrel Tasting brought many visitors to the area and also noted there were 11 weddings in the valley during the weekend.
Upcoming events - Memorial Ceremony at the American Legion Memorial site 11:00AM Monday
The 30th Manson Elementary School fund raiser at Benson Winery June 4th . The Chamber will sponsor a table.
June 25 there are two bike rides that will come to Manson with over 400 riders already registered. Both are sponsored by the rotary: Century Challenge Bike Ride and Cycle de Vine.
Flower baskets are up and growing. Adopt-a-Highway application has been approved. The Manson Schools took care of picking up trash before Apple Blossom. A date will be chosen for the next pick up and will include an appreciation BBQ after.
Current promotions and ad campaigns - KPQ ads have been suspended for the summer and will be revisited in the fall. Summer banners are being created using our new logo.
Weather, Waves and Wine
A map of Manson is in the works. The Mirror print promotion for the west side is out and available. The GLC video kiosk is up and running, static and video film promotional content is being created at this time.
A huge thank you goes out to all volunteers known and unknown who are helping make the community of Manson a great place to be. The summer season is here and lots of activities are happening. Be sure to post events to your chamber website page and /or email them so the chamber can post.
